Guixian Chen

I am currently a second year Ph.D. student at Umich. I am fortunate to be advised by Professor Salar Fattahi. My research focuses on developing efficient and robust computational methods for structured problems in optimization, statistics and machine learning. In particular, I explore new optimization techniques, leveraging structure in data to reduce computational overhead, and building models that can adaptively detect and defend against corruption and noise in real-time.
